Collection: Arabian Sand Patterns Collection

A growing Fine Art Photography collection inspired by the desert of Arabia. We imagine the desert to be a still place in which nothing ever truly seems to change and everything remains constant for years and centuries. In reality sand in the desert drifts just like water in rivers and oceans, only at a much slower pace. The endlessly evolving different formations of sand in these photos show that the desert is very much alive & in constant motion. Its color reflections equally change with the course of the day & the rhythm of the sun. This process continuous to leave me in complete awe whenever I find myself in these magnificent Arabian Sands. To me this is a natural phenomena that I feel extremely drawn to. Simple but yet extraordinary. The desert is my happy place. Without any distractions from the day to day urban life, being completely isolated from society I feel I can easily reconnect with the essence of it all, filter out what's not important and reconnect with that lost feeling of appreciation for Mother Nature and being one with nature. The feeling you get here watching the desert drift is truly indescribable.

Taken during my travels through the sands of Saudi Arabia. Most of the photos were taken in the Rub al Khali / Empty Quarter desert of Saudi Arabia. In 2019, I joined a mission to cross 4000km west to east across this isolated but magnificent desert to learn about and photograph its geomorphology, to contemplate about the lost city of the sand 'Ubar' and to learn about bedouin desert life of the past and today.
